Old Mill Feeds Ltd. is a farmer owned commercial animal feed mill located at James Valley Hutterian Colony near Elie, Manitoba.
Continuing in livestock production since 1918, the James Valley producers have applied their wealth of experience, a passion for animal husbandry and a results-oriented approach into developing cutting-edge animal nutrition products.
Although Old Mill Feeds utilizes state-of-the-art scientific expertise in formulating its feed mixtures, its people remain grounded in traditional rural values like honesty, reliability and social responsibility. Building on this foundation, Old Mill Feeds has earned the reputation of being a trustworthy partner that offers advanced solutions to meet the challenges that today’s livestock producers are facing.
Even though they have a 100 year history of producing animal feed, today Old Mill runs one of the most modern feed mills in Manitoba. It is a state-of-the-art fully automated plant running hammer-mill and roller-grinder lines with micro and macro systems set up vertically over four stories high. This efficient high throughput facility is capable of reliably producing approximately 30,000 metric tonnes annually of consistent high quality custom formulated animal feed. The mills capabilities allow us considerable flexibility in our production and delivery scheduling – enhancing our ability to meet each customers specific requirements.
Old Mill Feeds strives to grow as much of its feed ingredients as possible. A local land base of 7,000 acres and grain storage of nearly 600,000 bushels enables us to maintain the highest quality ingredients available for our feed mixtures. Producers who use our feeds are able to observe noticeable improvements in their livestock’s health and wellbeing and in their farms bottom line.
